rest in peace adam

here is my speech. i did not cry during it.
but i cried before and after it. many times.
-
"no amount of tears that fall from our eyes will bring you back,
we will forever remember your laugh, your smile,
your smell, your touch, and we will never forget the times we shared.
we love you forever and always.
-
bright shining stars only sparkle for a short time.
this is why they shine so bright and touch so many.
looking out at all of you today, its obvious that Adam was one of the brightest.
-
those of us lucky enough to have met Adam
will remember him best for his hilarious jokes and his encompassing smile.
a smile so charming and contagious, it is impossible to not smile when he is.
i tried once. it didnt work.
-
those of us fortunate enough to truly know Adam
will remember him for his infectious personality and his many passions.
it will take too long to list them all, but here i will mention a few that we both shared.
he loves music. all types.
if it has a note in it, its probably on his ipod.
he loves video games. and not just playing video games, but winning at video games.
whether it be mortal kombat, halo, or the more recent nba 2k9 and street fighter,
he loves playing and winning.
the last street fighter match we played together, he beat me. he threw the controller down
raised his arms and said it was the best moment of his life.
i am happy to be a part of that moment.
he loves sports especially soccer and basketball.
he loves the los angeles lakers, or more specifically kobe bryant of the los angeles lakers.
it was great to watch the lakers win playoff games with him.
times i will never forget.
at this moment. i know that he would like me to give a big shout out to kobe.
-
someone once said living without passion isnt living.
if thats true, then i can say Adam truly lived a great life.
-
i have known Adam for a relatively short time
but our friendship and bond grew over the past year.
we got along really well because
underneath all his charm and smooth talking, we were very much alike.
he was a bringer of joy, a transmitter of laughs,
a giver of happiness, and he was one of the best.
looking back at all the good times we shared,
i will never understand why there wont be more,
but i will always remember and cherish the ones we had.
-
Adam, i will not rush to see you,
but i will look forward to it.
i know you are watching over us from above
because we will forever be loving and missing you from down here.
-
finally, he is soaked in light.
everything is soft and smells of gently perfume.
he smiles.
fearless.
in peace.
-
bye Adam.
