On a lighter blah...

Why did the chicken cross the road? a question that has made us rub our chins for a while now. well, upon deep and thorough investigation i have come to a final thought for the awe inspiring question. there is no 1 answer to a philosophical question however i will not leave you hanging.

there are 2 schools of thought for the question that has plagued mankind since the beginning of time, the 1st school of thought is the deterministic view. which basically states that "the chicken must cross the road." this view suggests that the chicken had to cross the road, it must, it is in its nature at that time to cross the road because there is no other option. this view suggests that ever since the chicken came from the egg (dont get me started on which came first) everything the chicken went through was determined from the first step the chicken took to the last place the chicken took a shit, everything was determined beforehand. so under this deterministic view, asking why the chicken crossed the road is as meaningless as asking why is a chicken called a chicken, or why does 2 come from the summation of 1 and 1. its just the way its supposed to be. yes a pretty grim view so lets see if you like the other school of thought...

the 2nd school of thought assumes that the chicken is free to choose what it wanted to do at that particular time. the freedom view believes that the chicken could of crossed the road, taken a shit on the road, went half way across the road and went back, it just doesnt matter what. it assumes that the chicken is free to do anything that chicken brain wants to do. so now the most obvious question is why ask "why?" asking why in this case would be to assume that what a chicken does with its freedom is in anyway meaningful and of course thats just silly.
so in ultimate conclusion, it doesnt really matter why the chicken crossed the road, because we know it did, and lets just leave the chicken alone.

P.S this post is more a philosophical question than a question about a chicken

why study the chicken? instead, shouldn't we ask why the man crossed the road?

"Nature commands every animal, and beasts obey. Man feels the same impetus, but he knows he is free to go along or to resist; and it is above all in the awareness of this freedom that the spirituality of his soul is made manifest." --J.J. Rouseau
